Clinical Program
THEORETICAL ORIENTATION & METHODOLOGY: Psychodrama and Sociometry are the theories at the core of this facility's orientation. Developed by J.L. Moreno, M.D. (1889-1974), psychodrama employs guided dramatic action to examine problems or issues raised by an individual or group. Using experiential methods, sociometry, role theory, and group dynamics, psychodrama facilitates insight, personal growth, and integration at cognitive, affective, and behavioral levels.
BELIEFS: Community is the most important aspect of life. We all hunger for connections with others and ourselves. Our beliefs also embrace that every person is capable of change. People have the ability to provide, discover, and act on options to problems. As anxiety is diminished, spontaneity flourishes. Each participant is related to as an individual, each with their own truths.

PROGRAMS:
- Individual Psychotherapy - 50 minute to one hour and twenty minute sessions.
- Couples and Family Therapy - Offered by appointment.
- Group Psychotherapy - Utilizing psychodrama and sociometry as well as experiential methodology. Group therapy consists of no more than eight participants.
WEEKEND INTENSIVES: John believes in the power of community. The weekend intensive format utilizes the group process to facilitate exploration and change. These weekend intensives are effective modalities for providing safety, support, and growth. Eight to eleven people from all walks of life participate. The weekend intensives are helpful to those who are just beginning a personal growth journey, those needing a process to explore and recover from past traumas or abuses and for those experienced in therapy, either past or current, and feel stuck.
